Team:
The team also gathers international research units and a body of independent researchers based at the University of East Anglia (UEA), at the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) and at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), with a long and fruitful experience of joint work, involving the participation in common projects. This group has experts with a high knowledge on animal movement that recently created the Movetech Telemetry wich developed cutting-edge GPS devices for tracking animal movements.
All the team has strong background on the ecology of Palaearctic migrants and partial migration across a wide range of bird species and ecosystems and brings together experts that have been involved, with over 20 years of research experience, in the study of the movement ecology, behaviour, and population dynamics of White stork in Portugal.
The group is also part of the Biodivesity Chair, jointly created by the National Energy Networks (REN), the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources from the University of Porto (CIBIO-InBIO). This partnership reflects the commitment of the three entities in this matter and is based on 3 strategic pillars: monitoring, minimization and impact compensation; population ecology and citizenship in science.
